COULTIN GIST

I grew up in Tulare, my family has been here since 1886. Living in the Central Valley gave me an appreciation for the beauty in growing and producing an AgriculturaI product. I went to Fresno State where I majored in Plant Science with an Enology minor. I had the great opportunity to do my internship in France where I learned the French winemaking style and have helped bring some of the grapes I worked with to market in a special wine. This is my dream job and I am so proud to be able to share my knowledge, experience, and passion with my hometown through Baron's Table.

I am available if you would like to host an educational event for your wine club or friend group. I am also here to help you choose wines for any occasion or gift. Don't hesitate to call me for recommendations, sales, or bookings.

COULTIN'S CHOICE

2020 SAN FELICE PUGNITELLO IGT
Castelnuovo Berardenga, Siena. Italy.
Taste: $19.   Glass: $37.    Bottle: $130.

Who is ready to try a rare and almost forgotten wine?

Pugnitello was the most popular grape in Italy during the Roman Empire. Pugnitello translates to “little fist,” referring to the shape of the grape cluster.

This is a rediscovered variety. When San Felice winery bought the land 25 years ago, they didn’t know what was in the vineyard, so they brought in the universities of Florence and Pisa. Ever since, they have collaborated to save native Tuscan grapes, like this Pugnitello, from extinction.

This wine has notes of red currant, raspberry, pomegranate, and chocolate!
